I remember working on a little bity computer screen in front of me back in the day. It was so small, you could do one thing exactly on it. It was maybe a 10-inch or slightly bigger monitor. Ugh. Those days are long gone and today I work on a 39-inch monitor. So when it comes to what size computer monitor should I get, for me bigger is better, but of course, we need to look at the workflows and usage, too.
You can still buy a 10-inch monitor today, but you won’t catch me doing that. In fact, from 2020 to 2024, I’ve mostly been using 27-inch monitors. Those have worked, and I’ve been using two most of the time.
Then, I wanted to switch up how many different things were in front of me. And I thought, maybe I could just get one bigger monitor and not use two monitors side by side. Curved monitors are an options for this as well. So I got a 39-inch monitor so see if I would like that setup.
So far, I like it but it’s taking some getting used to to move windows to different parts of the screen. Afterall, I don’t just want everything to be bigger, but I want to use it like a desk basically. One window over here, another there, and the main one I’m working on in the middle.
As you are considering upgrading or changing sizes, consider what you do on your computer all day, how you prefer to work and what even fits on your desk. Two monitors certainly fit but so does the bigger one. And it’s not as clunky as two. My neck is straining less, too. Overall, so far, I’m a fan.
