The new Threads App – let’s call it another X clone – reached 10 million users or so joined in just 7 hours on July 5, 2023, – including me. Over a year later, I still use it, but some are still wondering what is the Threads app used for?
The Backstreet Boys joined too, announcing: “We’re back again.”
 

How the Thread app works

To join, download the app on your phone. On desktop you can find it here. Yup, this app has a website interface, too, So much for websites going away.
You can read just posts from people you follow or follow suggested posts curated for you by an algorithm. following threads accounts After Threads launched metrics, I could see that the vast majority of my views came from non-followers, so were sent my way via the algorithm. Tips for maximizing the Threads app experience

On Day 1 of being on the app, it was fun to reconnect, follow different people, and see people following me. Of course, that dopamine level tapped off. So, make sure to integrate whatever you do on Threads into your overarching content strategy. Share your expertise, engage with people, and offer value. Be real. It sounds like the things that worked early on in social media. Just conversing seems to work. For example, I Of course, the Threads app will evolve, too. There are no ads yet. Some brands – like Dunkin Donuts and others – joined quickly. But true marketing messages certainly were absent on the first day of exploration.

I like the app overall and will continue trying to post content that makes sense and that is part of my content strategy.
