Google Podcasts became another Google project that ended up in the graveyard of offerings. When it comes to what happened to Google Podcasts, the answer is that it went the way of Google’s (RSS) Reader, Picasa, and even Google Play Music.
And just like Play Music, Google Podcasts is being replaced by YouTube Music which now includes podcasts.
Here’s what the app looked like back in the day.
It was my favorite app for bit. But I was also moving around quite a bit between Apple Podcasts, and Spotify and Google. Today, I mostly listen on Apple Podcasts.
So if you still have subscriptions on Google Podcasts, you can easily move them over to YouTube Music or download them and upload them to another app.
So when you’re wondering what happened to Google Podcasts that’s the answer. It’s been replaced by YouTube Music basically.
