Artificial intelligence is all around us, including on LinkedIn, and including on LinkedIn comments. And now, LinkedIn AI features are rolling out to the masses – at least the premium subscriber masses in several forms.
Post summaries and more info
This is where I noticed it first. You can now click on an AI takeaway button. It tells you what there is to know about the post. This might not make a lot of sense for short posts but when somebody publishes 1,000 words or more or links to an article, a summary certainly is nice.
It also gives you the option to learn more about content mentioned in the post. That information pulls from Linkedin and other sources.
On the job front
Linkedin AI features also try to answer the question whether or not you’re a good fit for a job that you’re looking at to potentially applying to.
Messaging
You can now have AI write your InMail to somebody new you’re trying to connect with. This has been very limited in my experience, however.
Writing your post
AI now offers to help you write your post.
From a content strategy perspective, the added context and summaries for posts has potential. If I share the link to a 2,000-word article, I know that many people will not read the whole article or even click over. So for them to be able to get an instant summary can still get my point across and help me make an impression.
