Call me high-maintenance, but I prefer to listen to others in remote meetings or my guests on my podcast livestreams through high-quality Bluetooth speakers. Of course, what are the best Bluetooth speakers for the office can depend on preference. And after all, some people prefer headphones or AirPod Pros.
After testing several, I’ve come to the conclusion that the best Bluetooth speakers for the office are for me. I’ll share other options with you, but here’s my winner: a soundbar. The one I currently use specifically is the Bestisan Soundbar, 100 Watt.
Where to put speakers on desk?
I put the soundbar across the room from me. So it’s not right by me. It actually sounds way nicer from all the way over there. It kind of fills up the room with the sound. And while I’m not jamming out to the latest hits and instead have meetings or livestreams, it’s night and day from that hollow sound on conference calls when people use speakerphones.
Speakers certainly can also be placed:
- on the desk in front of you
- behind you (might make a nice backdrop as well)
- in the corners of the room for more of a surround sound
Other options for Bluetooth speakers for the office
These Bluetooth speakers with touchpad worked pretty well, but they also just turned on at random times. It’s probably a setting, but it’s kind of annoying, and I haven’t had that problem with others. I also like the look of these. The wood-feel is kind of luxurious. Once you figure out the apparent setting, the touchpad offers options of playing something and volume.
Then, we have what I would call gaming speakers. They have colors that turn on and off, move up and down, and, at times, rotate between different colors.
They may look good behind me on a livestream, though I don’t usually have that gamer feel – aside from sitting in a gaming chair. They didn’t work in front of me; the colors were quite distracting.
Then we have other designs, like these Logitech Bluetooth speakers. They are pretty small, and I ended up preferring the soundbar over them.
They may also look nice in the background. The sound was so-so.
At the end of the day, which Bluetooth speakers work for you depends on your priorities. I am looking for the best sound first and look second. I also don’t need the lights. But one thing is clear, Bluetooth speakers are the way to go over wired speakers. Even with decent cable management techniques, there are way too many cables in my office as is.
