When you are live streaming or even when you’re just working at your desk and have your iPad nearby, it can be annoying when the screen just turns off – or in other words – goes dark. So how to keep iPad screen from going dark? Let me show you.
This is especially important to me because for example, I have my iPad sitting next to me all day long like this:
Of course, there are plenty of other stand options available for your desk. I also use my cellular-enabled iPad Pro while live streaming softball games to keep score.
In reality, though, it’s quite easy to keep an iPad screen from going dark. It’s just a setting issue because the autolock is turned on.
So go to settings, type in display, and then change autolock to never. For security reasons, make sure you lock or close the iPad when you’re not near it and don’t want it to be available to anyone walking by. That’s certainly not an issue when you work at home or shouldn’t be.
So that’s basically how you do. There are definitely advantages to do this and I’ve done that same setting for years.
When this doesn’t work
Keep in mind that if your battery is running low, the screen will turn off in low battery mode.
