Don’t keep going on the wrong path just so the mistake doesn’t have to be admitted or confronted.

Sounds easy enough, right? Common sense maybe even. Don’t do what doesn’t make sense.

So why do we sometimes go down the wrong path and keep going, despite it being the wrong route?

Maybe we just don’t know. It’s dark out and from what we can see with the headlights, it appears that we are going down a road – just not the right one.

Sometimes, me need a passenger in our lives to tell us.

I think we are going the wrong way. Let’s stop, turn around and change directions.

Changing directions can be hard when we don’t see that it’s necessary.

Even worse is when we know but don’t want to because we don’t want to admit the mistake.

It’s OK to change directions. People do it all the time. In their lives – professionally and socially – and when they are driving (have I overused this metaphor yet? Ha).

It’s OK to admit a mistake and then change course to be on the right track once again.
